A Little Of What You Fancy…

Today it is impossible to avoid the constant barrage of images of how we’re ‘meant to look’, and advice on what we should be eating and how we should be living similarly seems to be everywhere, from the leaflets within our doctors to the Government adverts on television. Don’t get us wrong, obesity is a serious issue, but the constant focus on weight can make for an unavoidable feeling of pressure, where people are prompted to constantly watch the scales, get their 30 minutes of exercise every day and tot up our five a day like it’s a new religion.

While we’re big fans of enjoying life and everything that entails, we also believe that healthy recipes and meal ideas are important if you want to live a long and healthy life, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the odd luxury or treat along the way as well. Like this wine-poached salmon recipe, which sounds quite decadent, but is actually quite healthy, and very, very tasty. Delicious Treats for Christmas

Christmas is a great time of year for indulging our tastes for gorgeous foods – as long as you don’t over do it. So, if you’re looking for something delicious to eat during the festive season, here are a few ideas we found on Pinterest.

Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows

These chocolate dipped marshmallows look as good as they no doubt taste. If you use the oversized marshmallows these make great gifts to give friends and family for Christmas, or use normal sized marshmallows for a sweet snack for young and old to enjoy.

Chocolate Peppermint Bark

Sticking with the chocolate theme, if you want something that will look as good as it tastes, you might want to try this chocolate peppermint bark. It couldn’t be easier to make and if you display it properly you won’t fail to impress your guests.

Pignoli Cookies

These are a Christmas classic and great for those who are watching what they eat, as these Pignoli cookies gluten-free and vegetarian. Crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle, they do require a bit more effort to make, but they’re worth it.

Andes Mint Chocolate Chip Fudge

Just in case you hadn’t had enough chocolate, this mint chocolate chip fudge has layers of chocolate and mint and then are covered with chocolate chips. Simple and easy to make at home, and it tastes delicious.

So with these ideas, why not try something a little different this Christmas, and give your guests a real treat.
